Read 2 Me - East Gippsland
The Twin Rivers Lions Club has formed a partnership with the 123Read2me children's book charity to collect, sanitize book covers, quality check, sort into age groups, pack, and deliver pre-loved children's books to primary schools, preschools, and Day Care Centers throughout East Gippsland.
Each year, we process over 10,000 books, thanks to our collection boxes located at SCHOOL WORKS Bairnsdale, Vinnies Sale, and several charity shops in Bairnsdale and beyond. Our club also benefits from generous book donations from locals in East Gippsland who continue to support our children's literacy project.
We hold our sorting and packing days every Tuesday from 10 am to 2 pm, welcoming anyone interested in community volunteering to help us. We always appreciate volunteers who assist with this important local community project.
